Things are set to get scary next summer.
The Wayans brothers reteam Scary Movie from Paramount and Miramax is hitting theaters on June 12, 2026, according to a report on Deadline. It’s the first time in 18 years that the Wayans have gathered to pen a new original script for the restart of the satirical franchise. Rick Alvarez is also writing and producing.

Directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and released in 2000, Scary Movie starred Anna Faris, Marlon Wayans, Jon Abrahams, Carmen Electra, Dave Sheridan, Shawn Wayans, Frank B. Moore, Regina Hall, Shannon Elizabeth, Lochlyn Munro, and Cheri Oteri. The film was produced on a $19 million budget and earned $278 million at the box office. The film spawned four more sequels, each adding to the hilarity of the series.
