“Please try to enjoy each fact equally.”

Dichen Lachman (Severance) is the latest actor to sign up for the latest supernatural film by director Rob Savage. The film, which currently remains untitled, is based on the book titled Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman (Bird Box). Lachman joins Jessica Chastain and Jay Duplass, who were previously announced as starring in the film.

Lachman has earned critical acclaim and strong Emmy buzz this year for virtuosic dual roles as “Ms. Casey” and “Gemma” in the Apple TV+ Peabody Award-winning phenomenon Severance. Her second season arc on Severance included a riveting standalone episode 207, “Sweet Vitriol,” a showcase for Lachman that provides the backstory on her enigmatic character and her history with Adam Scott’s “Mark,” thus deepening the emotional stakes of the series and paving the way for the heart-stopping season finale episode in which she is prominently featured—right up until that unforgettable cliff-hanger moment. She enters this year’s Emmy race as a breakout contender for ‘Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series’, with her performance hailed as “a standout” (Rolling Stone), “heartbreaking” (The Hollywood Reporter), “career-defining” (Entertainment Weekly) performance that is “nothing short of incredible” (Esquire). Lachman will soon star in the second and third seasons of Netflix’s live-action version of Avatar: The Last Airbender. She is known to global audiences for her roles in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and Jurassic World: Dominion, reprising the latter role in the animated series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. Her diverse body of work also includes breakout performances in Altered CarbonAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D.Raya and the Last DragonAnimal KingdomAquamarine, and Too Late.

The film is being produced by Atomic Monster/Blumhouse in association with Spin a Black Yarn for Universal Pictures.
