Naomi Ackie is in final talks to star opposite the returning Maika Monroe in the It Follows sequel titled They Follow, according to a report on Deadline.
There’s no word on the role that Ackie will play, but the sequel is set to take place a decade after the original film.
It Follows focuses on 19-year-old Jay as she suddenly finds herself plagued by nightmarish visions after a sexual encounter. Her world is becoming stranger by the day as she can’t shake the sensation that someone, or something, is following her. As the threat closes in, Jay and her friends must somehow escape the horrors that are only a few steps behind
Directed by Dabid Robert Mitchell, It Follows was released on March 13, 2015 and earned $23.3 million at the box office against a budget of $1.3 million. In addition to Monroe, the film featured Keir Gilchrist, Daniel Zovatto, Jake Weary, Olivia Luccardi, and Lili Sepe.
