Ready for more chest-bursting horror?

The FX Alien TV series–based on the classic 1979 horror-s/f film–is expected to shoot from February until July 2024 (with a debut date somewhere in the first half of 2025). And this week, the show added two new actors in major roles, according to a report on Deadline.

Timothy Olyphant (Scream 2, Justified) has signed on to star opposite Sydney Chandler in the prequel series led by showrunner Noah Hawley. In addition, David Rysdahl (Oppenheimer) will join the series.

Details on Rysdahl’s character have not been revealed, but Olyphant’s character has been reported to be Kirsh, a meta-human with the brain of a child and the body of an adult who acts as a mentor for Chandler’s Wendy.

The series will be the first story in the Alien franchise to be set on Earth–about 70 years in our future. The rest of the cast includes Alex Lawther as CJ, Samuel Blenkin as Boy Kavalier, Essie Davis as Dame Silvia, Adarsh Gouray as Slightly and Kit Young as Tootles.
