First Kill–an upcoming Netflix young adult vampire series that takes a unique look at the hunter and the hunted–this week filled out its cast.
The eight-episode limited series, as reported by Deadline, is being led by executive producer Emma Roberts–well known to horror fans for her roles in American Horror Story and Scream 4.
The series is based on a short story by Victoria Schwab, who will co-write the scripts with showrunner Felicia D. Henderson. Production on the series is underway, but no debut date has yet been set.
The storyline follows a teenage vampire, Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook), who is looking for her first kill so that she can take her place among a powerful vampire family. She sets her sights on a new girl in town, Calliope (Imani Lewis), but, to her surprise, Calliope turns out to be a vampire hunter, from a long line of hunters. They each find that the other will not be an easy target.
Joining the two leads in the cast are Elizabeth Mitchell, Aubin Wise, Jason Robert Moore, Gracie Dzienny, Will Swenson, Phillip Mullings Jr., Dominic Goodman, Dylan McNamara, Jonas Dylan Allen and Roberto Mendez.
