Entertainment Weekly paid a visit to the set of The Walking Dead: Dead City where the cast was working on season three of the hit series. While there, they met with series stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan.
While talking about the complicated relationship between the two, Mordan said “We needed this relationship to move on between Maggie and Negan, and I was desperate for it. Negan kept doing things like saving her, saving her kid, and yet she just hated me. I just think we all were ready to move on. It’s not just gonna be, ‘I’m gonna kill you when I get the chance,’ you know?”

The synopsis of the next season reads “In Season 3, Maggie and Negan finally put aside their differences to build the first thriving community in Manhattan since the apocalypse, but when chaos in the city begins to arise, they are forced to question: have they learned from their old wounds or will their dark past spell doom for the entire city? “
