The dino’s director chair didn’t stay cold for long.
Earlier this month, David Leitch–the Deadpool 2 director–dropped out of the race to helm the next Jurassic World entry, and now his replacement is ready to slip into the job, according to a report on Deadline.
Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) is in final talks to direct the new feature, with pre-production slated to start as soon as soon as the ink on the contract has dried.
This dino entry–reportedly a complete reboot of 2015’s Jurassic World--is being written by David Koepp, and is aiming for a July 2, 2025 theatrical release.
The new feature–produced by Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley–is not expected to bring back any of the most recent or legacy stars. Stay tuned for casting choices.
The previous six Jurassic movies have earned a whopping $6 billion worldwide–with 2022’s Jurassic World: Dominion scaring up $1 billion on its own merits.
