Rest easy, Nauls.
T.K. Carter, beloved for his performance as Nauls in the 1982 sci-fi horror film The Thing, has passed away. According to TMZ, the actor was found dead Friday in his Duarte, California, home following a 911 call made at 5:42 p.m. No cause of death has been announced, and foul play is not believed to be involved.
In John Carpenter’s The Thing (1982), Nauls’ fate is left unresolved, as he disappears during the planting of explosives, suggesting off-screen assimilation by the Blair-Thing.
In addition to The Thing, Carter had memorable roles in Just our Luck, Punky Brewster, Good Morning, Miss Bliss, Turbo Teen, Ski Patrol, and The Sinbad Show. He also appeared in Good Times, The Jeffersons, Southern Comfort, The Steve Harvey Show, The Corner, Dave, and The Company You Keep.
The team at Horror News Network send our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Mr. Carter.
