Mckenna Grace is set to take on a leading role in the new live-action Scooby-Doo adaptation, produced by Berlanti Productions for Netflix. According to Deadline, she will portray Daphne in the eight-episode series.
The series, produced by Midnight Radio, Berlanti Productions, and Warner Bros. Television, was picked up for development by the streaming platform last spring after a competitive bidding battle, landing a premium script-to-series order.
According to the source, the synopsis of the series reads “During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder. Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.”
