Netflix has announced that another round of Squid Game is set to arrive on December 26th, and then a third season, which will conclude the series, is slated to arrive in 2025.
The third season will follow Seong Gi-hun who once again enters the game, but this time he seeks revenge.
Written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, season 1 of the series starred Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, Wi Ha-joon, HoYeon Jung, O Yeong-su, Heo Sung-tae, Anupam Tripathi and Kim Joo-ryoung.
“Seong Gi-hun who vowed revenge at the end of Season 1 returns and joins the game again,” Hwang wrote in a letter to fans. “Front Man doesn’t seem to be an easy opponent this time either. The fierce clash between their two worlds will continue into the series finale with Season 3, which will be brought to you next year. I am thrilled to see the seed that was planted in creating a new Squid Game grow and bear fruit through the end of this story.”
