Republic Pictures Land Rights to ‘The Monster’

Paramount’s Republic Pictures label has boarded worldwide rights to horror The Monster, starring Djimon Hounsou (A Quiet Place: Day One), Lauren LaVera (Terrifier franchise) and Mia Healey (The Wilds), according to a report on Deadline.

Gina Philips (Jeepers Creepers)who will be appearing in her first on-screen role in eight years has joined the cast along with rapper Jacob Lukas Anderson, aka “Prof” , Alicia Witt (Dune) and Neal McDonough (Band Of Brothers).

The film is said to follow “two millennials who make quick money by leasing incredible New York City apartments they don’t own to people who don’t know they are being scammed. The con works brilliantly until they run into an apartment owner with a dark secret who flips the game on them.”

The Monster, which is being directed by Darren Lynn Bousman  is currently filming in Danbury, CT.
