Once again, the future looks bleak.
Arcadian–a new horror thriller that will premiere at next month’s SXSW–has been picked up by RLJE Films for distribution, according to a report on Deadline.
The feature–starring Nicolas Cage–is slated to hit theaters April 12, with a Shudder and AMC+ debut expected later this year.
Directed by Ben Brewer from a screenplay by Michael Nilon, Arcadian also stars Jaeden Martell (It), Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in Space) and Sadie Soverall (Saltburn).
In the film–set in the near future when normal life on Earth has been decimated–Paul (Cage) and his sons Thomas (Jenkins) and Joseph (Martell) have been living in “tranquility by day and torment at night.”
When the sun sets in this world, they face “unrelenting attacks by a mysterious and violent evil. One day, when Thomas doesn’t return home before sundown, Paul leaves their fortified home to find him–and a nightmarish battle ensues that forces the family to execute a desperate plan to survive.”
