Who dares direct the dinos?

A new as-yet-untitled Jurassic World entry is getting closer to fruition–with a director reportedly ready to sign on the dotted line and a release date now announced, according to a report on Deadline.

The new Universal Pictures film–described as a “complete reboot” of 2015’s Jurassic World–is pursuing David Leitch (Deadpool 2) to sit in the director’s chair. When Leitch officially takes over, he’ll be working with screenwriter David Koepp–a veteran of two Jurassic Park movies–and be staring at a July 2, 2025 debut date.

The dino film–produced by Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley–reportedly will not feature veteran stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum. So, stay tuned for casting choices.

A box office cash cow, the six Jurassic entries have earned more than $6 billion worldwide, with the last entry–2022’s Jurassic World: Dominion–raking in a cool $1 billion.
