‘Martha Is Dead’ Video Game Getting Film Adaptation

by Thomas Tuna

It’s not easy being a twin.

A film adaptation of Martha Is Dead–the psychological horror video game from LKA–is in active development. No release window has been announced.

The game–available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC–will come to the big screen though the efforts of LKA, Wired Productions and Studios Extraordinaires. Andre Hedetoft and Andreas Troedsson will direct the film from a screenplay by Hedetoft.

Set in Tuscany during World War II, the game casts players as Giulia, a young woman who finds herself wrapped up in a mystery following the death of her twin sister–the titular Martha.

Luca Dalco, the game’s writer and designer, said “every element of Martha Is Dead was created with precision and care. The narrative’s complexity was planned, visualized and shaped with a cinematic quality in mind, so this adaptation is a dream come true.”
