The Hollywood Reporter recently chatted with Linda Cardellini about her career (so far) in Hollywood and some of her more memorable roles. Late in the interview we learn more about her upcoming role of Pamela Voorhees in the Friday the 13th prequel series Crystal Lake.
“With Crystal Lake, A24, Peacock and [creator] Brad Caleb Kane all came together and they just had this concept for making this story about Pam Voorhees. And if you watch the original movie, it really operates like a whodunit. Spoiler: at the end, you find out that it was Pam Voorhees,” said Cardellini. “She’s only in the movie for the last little bit, but she leaves this impression on the entire franchise. There’s so many movies subsequent that you’d think Jason’s always been in that mask doing what he’s doing. But that wasn’t the case.”
Other cast involved in Crystal Lake include Callum Vinson playing the role of Pam’s son Jason, Nick Cordileone (Warrior), Joy Suprano (Fleishman is in Trouble, Best Foot Forward), Danielle Kotch (Director’s Cut), and Phoenix Parnevik (Bel-Air, Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter Is Dead).
