We have sad news to relay today as Friday the 13th screenwriter Victor Miller has passed away. His son Ian took to Instagram to post the news. The news was posted by his son Ian on Instagram.
“Yesterday my father, Victor Miller, went to his final reward. He was almost always the smartest, funniest person in whatever room he was in. He inspired in me, and many others, a love of photography, music, and storytelling. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and his grandson. He had a helluva run and will be missed dearly. For those who are interested, we will hold a celebration of life in November — on Friday the 13th, of course.”
Miller had no involvement in any of the Friday the 13th sequels, although he continued to receive credit for creating the characters of Jason Voorhees, his mother Pamela Voorhees, and protagonist Alice Hardy.
In addition to writing for the big screen, Miller also wrote for television and would go on to win Daytime Emmys for his work on All My Children in 1985, 1988, and 1998.
