Kevin Greutert Reportedly Will Return To Direct ‘Saw XI’

by Thomas Tuna

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Saw XI–the next entry in the classic horror film franchise–hits theaters this fall, but little is known at this time about the storyline. And, until this week, the director’s chair has been empty. Not any more.

Kevin Greutert–who has already helmed Saw VI, Saw: The Final Chapter and Saw X–reportedly will return to direct the new installment. One major problem remains, however. Saw X screenwriters Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger will not return to pen the next script. So, stay tuned for updates in that area.

In addition, the final casting choices have yet to be revealed. Will the new film–slated for the big screen Sept. 27–see the return of Tobin Bell’s John Kramer, Shawnee Smith’s Amanda Young and Synnove Macody Lund’s Cecilia Pederson? And will the movie be a direct sequel to Saw X? Questions, questions.

As horror fans know, Saw X follows John Kramer as he travels to Mexico for a “risky and experimental medical procedure–hoping for a miracle cure for his cancer.”

Instead, Kramer falls victim to a horrible scam and, seeking revenge, “returns to work–turning the tables on the con artists through a series of terrifying traps.”
