With an animated series already in development, Sony Animation and Netflix are looking to expand on building on their Ghostbusters universe by teaming on a Ghostbusters animated film, according to a report on Deadline. The film is said to be part of the expanding Ghostbusters universe, with the latest live-action feature, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, released earlier this year.
Rumors are swirling that Kris Pearn is attached to direct. Pearn co-directed Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, in addition to directing The Willoughbys which was released on Netflix in 2020.
Sources close to the development of this film see this as something that could do for the IP what the Beyond the Spider-Verse films have done for Spider-Man.
