Blum has now “officially joined forces” with James Wan’s Atomic Monster, the filmmaker tweeted, adding that, “Our deal is done. The preeminent homes for horror are now under one roof.”
Under the merger, the companies reportedly will continue to work as separate labels–with each keeping its own creative autonomy and brand identity.
Blumhouse, as horror fans know, count such franchises as The Purge, Halloween, The Exorcist and The Black Phone among its triumphs, with Atomic Monster being responsible for The Conjuring, Insidious and Saw film series. Combined, the two companies have already raked in close to $12 billion worldwide since 2004.
