In a recent chat with Decider, Maika Monroe provided an update on the It Follows sequel that horror fans have been clamoring for.
Monroe revealed that writer-director David Robert Mitchell has penned an “exceptional” script, which she hopes to begin filming “next year,” adding that the team is currently working to align their schedules for the follow-up.
“This script is so good. I absolutely think this movie should get made, because I think fans will be really happy. I think it’s exceptional. We’ll see. Fingers crossed!”
Directed by David Robert Mitchell, It Follows starred Maika Monroe, Keir Gilchrist, Daniel Zovatto, Jake Weary, Olivia Luccardi, and Lili Sepe. The film debuted at Cannes on May 17, 2014, and had its official release date on March 13, 2015. It would go on to earn $23.3 million against a budget of $1.3 million.
