‘Year 2’ Gets New Title As The Werewolf Film Nears Wrapping

by Thomas Tuna

A bad moon rises.

Year 2–a new werewolf-themed horror pic–this week received a new (more descriptive) title as the director announced that the film is very close to wrapping production. Check out the social media post from Steven C. Miller on this page.

The film–now titled Werewolves–is helmed by Miller from a screenplay by Matthew Kennedy, and stars Frank Grillo (the Purge franchise) as scientist Wesley Marshall, who is “racing against time one year after a Supermoon has triggered a latent gene in humans that turns them into werewolves when they enter moonlight.”

As a result, million have died and now, the Supermoon is back–and Marshall must find a cure. When his sister-in-law and niece are attacked by werewolves, he’s forced to choose between saving the world–or his family.

The movie–which doesn’t yet have a release window–also stars Katrina Law as Dr. Amy Chen, Lou Diamond Phillips as Dr. Aranda, Ilfenesh Hadera as Wesley’s sister-in-law Lucy and Johnathon Schaech as Lucy’s neighbor Cody.
