Wednesday–the Netflix series that draws on the iconic ’60s show The Addams Family–is gearing up for its second season–and a new development was hinted at this week that may mean another Addams weirdo would get his own show.

The Wednesday series–slated to start shooting Season 2 in Ireland in late April 2024–may spin off a show featuring Uncle Fester–a popular character played by Fred Armisen (and originated by Jackie Coogan in the original TV show).

The possible new show, according to a report on Bloomberg News, would focus on Fester, who only appeared in one episode of the first season of Wednesday. Sources say the spinoff is only in early talks at this point, and may not materialize. So, stay tuned.

In the meantime, Season 2 of Wednesday–created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and led by executive producer/director Tim Burton–is still being written, with no word on cast confirmations over and above star Jenna Ortega.

Reports have indicated that additional Addams Family members may appear in the second season, and Ortega–who also serves as a producer for the show–has said the new episodes will emphasize more horror elements and fewer romantic angles.
