Are you ready to go off the deep end again?
Night Swim just hit theaters this past weekend–raking in $12 million stateside–but writer/director Bryce McGuire is already thinking about a return to the perilous pool.
The filmmaker recently told Entertainment Weekly, “I do have an idea–if there were to be a sequel. There’s lots more of the mythology.”
McGuire explained that he wanted the first film “to be simple and archetypal. There’s lots more that has already been discussed and could have been in the movie that I’d love to explore–if people want more.”
Night Swim–from Blumhouse and Atomic Monster–was produced by Jason Blum and James Wan, and was inspired by a 2014 short film by McGuire and Rob Blackhurst.
In the horror feature, the Waller family moves into a new house–but they quickly learn they have “an unknown supernatural presence haunting their backyard swimming pool.”
The cast is led by Wyatt Russell, Kerry Condon, Amelie Hoeferle, Gavin Warren, Nancy Lenehan and Jodi Long.
