James Wan peered into the horror abyss…and liked what he Saw.
The genre filmmaker behind the successful Saw and Insidious franchises and the Conjuring Universe has also made his mark with such films as Furious 7 and the two Aquaman super-hero epics. But Wan recently hinted he may be thinking about returning to cinematic horror.
Wan–whose feature directorial debut was 2004’s Saw–discussed his career path with Collider, saying he “has a tendency to want to go back and forth. So, whenever I make a smaller film, I wanna go and make a big film.”
Also, he said, “Whenever I’m doing a big film, I wanna do a smaller film–and when I do my smaller films, they tend to be horror films. So, I feel like the itch for horror is potentially calling.” But, Wan cautioned, “We’ll see.”
It hardly sounds like Wan has his mind set to return to horror, but keep reading Horror News Network for all updates on the director’s next project.
