Horror News Network reported back in May of 2017 that Tom Hardy would star as Eddie Brock/Venom in the upcoming Sony Pictures production. Since then, Sony Pictures clarified that the film will not feature Spider-Man, and would not be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Shooting began on Venom in Atlanta and New York City in October of 2017. In December, Hardy told fans at Sony’s presentation at Comic Con Experience 2017 in Sao Paulo, Brazil that the film will be based on the Venom: Lethal Protector comic book miniseries, which first hit newsstands in 1993. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland), and it will also star Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate.
Venom is scheduled to hit theaters on October 5th, 2018. Stay tuned to Horror News Network for more details on this exciting project as they break!
