OK, that’s a lot of woman.
Tim Burton–who’s already busy directing the upcoming Beetlejuice sequel and the second season of the hit Netflix Wednesday series–has added another genre project to his full plate, according to a report on Deadline.
Warner Bros. is planning a remake of the 1958 cult classic Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, and this week Burton signed on to helm the film, which has Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl) on board to handle the screenplay.
There’s been no word at this early stage about plot details, production schedules or casting choices for the reboot.
The original Attack of the 50 Foot Woman–directed by Nathan H. Juran from a screenplay by Mark Hanna–stars Allison Hayes, William Hudson and Yvette Vickers. The film follows a wealthy heiress who has a close encounter with a monstrous alien that causes her to grow into the title character.
