In speaking to The Hollywood Reporter ahead of Disney+ Goosebumps: The Vanishing premiere, R.L. Stine has revealed that three new Fear Street films are in the works.
“The writers are working,” Stine shared. “So, I’ve got my fingers crossed.”
The three films will follow Fear Street: Prom Queen, which is set to arrive on Netflix at some point in 2025. The film will be directed by Matt Palmer from a screenplay he co-wrote with Donald McLeary, based on the novel The Prom Queen from the Fear Street book series.
The Fear Street books take place in the fictionalized town of Shadyside and feature teenagers as the main characters. Much of the paranormal activity, the murders and other unexplained happenings occur either directly on Fear Street or in the woods surrounding the street.
As of 2010, over 80 million copies of Fear Street have been sold.
