Some things should stay buried.

A new horror feature with the intriguing title of The Undertaker’s Children has lined up its two leads, as it heads to a projected filming start this spring, according to a report on Deadline.

The film–helmed by Alex Gayner in his directorial debut from a screenplay by Natasha LePetit–will star Ann Dowd (Hereditary) and Zosia Mamet (Madame Web). Producer and seller The Exchange is handling sales at the European Film Market.

The Undertaker’s Children–reportedly based on real-life events–follows a reclusive undertaker (Dowd), who is forced to take in the children of a deceased relative. But, when the older sister uncovers the woman’s plan to get rid of them, she reaches out to a child welfare nurse (Mamet).

As the situation worsens, the girl tries to escape with her brother before help arrives–“unleashing an evil that knows no bounds.”
