Just when you thought you had seen it all at San Diego Comic-Con, GWAR stomped their way onto the show floor to promote their new multi-media release, The Return of Gor Gor. While it is certainly not unusual to see costumes at SDCC, GWAR bring a visual style that quickly caught the attention of fans and onlookers. The line formed quickly at the Z2 Comics booth for signatures and photos with the band, also known as the Scumdogs of the Universe.
The Return of Gor Gor is both a 32-page comic and a seven-song musical release in honor of the band’s 40th anniversary. GWAR’s representation describes the new release as a “ full-blown audio/visual assault, a grotesque, hilarious, and gloriously violent celebration of GWAR’s shocking four-decade reign.” Now available, a special hard copy of the comic with a vinyl record insert was available at SDCC.
