The howling starts next Halloween.
The long-gestating Blumhouse take on the classic Wolf Man has leaked no news for more than a year now–but this week, Deadline reports that the film has changed its lead and director and has landed an appropriate release date.
The film–which had cast Ryan Gosling in the lead, working with writer/director Derek Cianfrance–is now helmed by Leigh Whannell (The Invisible Man) from a screenplay he wrote with Corbett Tuck, Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo.
The film–set for theatrical release Oct. 25, 2024–now stars Christopher Abbott (Poor Things) as a man “whose family is being terrorized by a lethal predator.” Sounds like Lon Chaney Jr. would understand.
Gosling now acts as the film’s executive producer (along with Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira and Mel Turner), with Jason Blum serving as producer.
