“Hey Angela. How come you never take showers when the rest of us do, huh?”

AFA, the production banner launched by Kenan Thompson and Johnny Ryan Jr., has picked up the remake rights to Sleepaway Camp, the cult 1980s slasher from writer-director Robert Hiltzik, according to a report on Deadline.

The big news here is that AFA has placed Hiltzik back at the helm to direct from his own script. Written and directed by Robert Hiltzik, Sleepaway Camp was released on November 18, 1983. The film would go on to earn $11 million at the box office against a budget of $350,000. Sleepaway Camp starred Felissa Rose, Mike Kellin, Katherine Kamhi, Paul DeAngelo, Jonathan Tiersten, Christopher Collet, and Karen Fields.
