R.L. Stine Reveals Release Date for ‘Fear Street: Prom Queen’

Save the date for one killer night.

R.L. Stine, the renowned author behind the iconic Goosebumps and Fear Street series, appeared in a short video for IGN Fan Fest, which runs from February 24 – 28, 2025, to drop the release date for Fear Street: Prom Queen. “Most people would say killing teenagers is not a good thing. But here I am, and here you are for another chapter of Fear Street,” said Stine. Following the statement, a release date of May 23, 2025 appeared on the screen.

The official synopsis of the film reads “Prom season at Shadyside High is underway and the school’s wolfpack of It Girls is busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown. But when a gutsy outsider is unexpectedly nominated to the court, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing, the class of ’88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night.”

Directed by Matt Palmer, Fear Street: Prom Queen will star India Fowler (The Nevers, Insomnia), Suzanna Son (Red Rocket, The Idol), Fina Strazza (Paper Girls, Above the Shadows), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty, Cinnamon), Ella Rubin (The Idea of You), Chris Klein (Sweet Magnolias, American Pie) with Lili Taylor (Outer Range, Manhunt) and Katherine Waterston (The End We Start From, Perry Mason).
