Official Trailer Drops For ‘The First Omen’ Before April Debut

The First Omen–the 20th Century Studio prequel to the 1976 horror classic–has finally released a trailer and further details, one year after the last announcement on the film. Check out the eerie video on this page.

The feature–directed by Arkasha Stevenson from a screenplay she wrote with Keith Thomas and executive producer Tim Smith–hits theaters April 5.

The cast includes Nell Tiger Free (Servant), Tawfeek Barhom (Mary Magdalene), Sonia Braga (Kiss of the Spider Woman), Ralph Ineson (The Witch) and Bill Nighy (Shaun of the Dead).

In The First Omen, a young American woman–sent to Rome to start a life of service to the church–encounters “a darkness that makes her question her faith, and leads her to uncover a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.”

The Omen–directed by Richard Donner from a screenplay by David Seltzer–stars Gregory Peck and Lee Remick, and follows an American ambassador who believes his five-year-old son is the Antichrist.
