Everyone in the pool!
Night Swim may not have been the best-received horror pic from Blumhouse and Atomic Monster–posting a less-than-impressive C CinemaScore–but it still made a nice splash in its domestic box office debut, according to a report on Deadline.
The film–from writer/director Bryce McGuire–finished second in the domestic race, earning $12 million from 3,250 theaters. Produced by Jason Blum and James Wan, the feature was adapted from a 2014 short film by McGuire and Rob Blackhurst.
In Night Swim, the Waller family moves into a new house with high hopes, but they quickly discover that “an unknown supernatural presence haunts the backyard swimming pool.”
The cast includes such genre veterans as Wyatt Russell, Kerry Condon, Amelie Hoeferle, Gavin Warren, Nancy Lenehan and Jodi Long.
