Molly Ringwald (Sixteen Candles) has joined the recurring cast of the Showtime series Yellowjackets, according to a report on Deadline. Ringwald will play Van’s (Lauren Ambrose, Liv Hewson) mom, Vicky, a recently recovered alcoholic trying her best to course correct her past.
The fourth season will mark the end of the series which stars Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Sophie Nelisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, and Samantha Hanratty.
Yellowjackets is a gripping psychological drama and survival story about a high school girls’ soccer team whose plane goes down in the remote wilderness in 1996. Cut off from the world for 19 months, the girls fight to stay alive as hunger, isolation, and mounting fear slowly erode their bonds — driving them to make choices they never would have imagined.
Yellowjackets ranks as the second most-streamed series in Showtime history, trailing only Dexter: New Blood. The network reported that the penultimate episode of its first season drew 1.41 million viewers across all platforms.
