Michael Sarnoski In Talks to Direct ‘Death Stranding’

Michael Sarnoski (A Quiet Place: Day One, Pig) is in talks to write and direct the live-action adaptation of Hideo Kojima’s genre-defying video game, Death Stranding, with A24 and Kojima Productions producing, according to a report on Deadline.

Released for PlayStation 4 on November 8, 2019, the game featured a quality cast which included Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Guillermo del Toro, and Margaret Qualley. According to SuperData Research‘s estimates, Death Stranding sold 477,000 digital copies in its first month on Steam.

The synopsis of the game reads “In the future, a mysterious event known as the Death Stranding has opened a doorway between the living and the dead, leading to grotesque creatures from the afterlife roaming the fallen world marred by a desolate society. As Sam Bridges, your mission is to deliver hope to humanity by connecting the last survivors of a decimated America.“
