While the current slate of ongoing horror series may be relatively small, one title that consistently delivers is Something Is Killing the Children. Since its debut in 2019, the breakout series has maintained its momentum, with this year’s issues standing out in particular as they delve deeper into Erica Slaughter’s past.
The creative partnership of writer James Tynion IV and artist Werther Dell’Edera continues to shine, growing stronger with each chapter of their ongoing journey. Something Is Killing the Children delivers a compelling narrative, bolstered by visceral horror and plenty of blood-soaked intensity.
Earlier this year, Boom! Studios announced that the series has surpassed four and a half million copies sold worldwide. With its popularity and devoted fanbase firmly established, the property’s adaptation rights were acquired by Blumhouse Productions, which plans to develop the comic into both a live-action feature film and an adult animated television series. Comic co-creator James Tynion IV is expected to direct the animated series.
Congratulations to James Tynion IV, Werther Dell’Edera, and the team at Boom! Studios for winning the Horror Comic of the Year Award for Series of the Year.
