While Neal Adams is best known for his iconic work on Batman, Superman, and Green Lantern/Green Arrow, his contributions to horror comics are equally significant and impossible to overlook.
Early in his career, Adams began illustrating horror stories for editor Archie Goodwin at Warren Publishing, where his distinctive artistic style left a lasting mark on titles such as Eerie and Creepy. He also made a major impact on Vampirella, helping to shape a darker, more mature interpretation of the character.
At DC Comics, Adams played a key role in the publisher’s horror and supernatural line. He helped define Deadman and found new ways to make The Spectre even more unsettling. His work also appeared in House of Mystery, House of Secrets, The Witching Hour, and Unexpected.
We are proud to recognize Neal Adams as the Horror News Network Horror Comic Award Honoree for 2025.
