Rinse and repeat.
Jeff Lemire is now a back-to-back Horror Comic Award winner, as he takes home this year’s Writer of the Year Award for his outstanding scripts on such titles as Phantom Road, Little Monsters and Tenement.

Last year, Horror News Network honored Lemire for his work on two books in Image Comics’ The Bone Orchard Mythos--and this year, he continued Bone Orchard with Tenement, working alongside artist Andrea Sorrentino (who was named our Artist of the Year).
In Tenement, the creative team of Lemire and Sorrentino relate the story of seven residents in a building and the dark secrets that bind them–beginning with a death that feels much more sinister than natural.
Lemire is already a multi-award winner for his comic book scripts–including a 2005 Xeric Award for Lost Dogs and a 2017 Eisner Award for Black Hammer. He also has been nominated for an Ignatz, a Harvey and several other Eisner Awards–most recently for Barbalien: Red Planet for Dark Horse.
The staff of Horror News Network congratulates Jeff Lemire for his second consecutive Writer of the Year Award for 2023.
