Four more actors are set to feel the squeeze.
Thandiwe Newton (Westworld), Steve Zahn (Silo, Joy Ride) Selton Mello (I’m Still Here), and Ione Skye (Say Anything) have joined the reimagining of the 1997 action horror movie Anaconda, according to a report on The Hollywood Reporter.
They will all join Paul Rudd and Jack Black in the film which will tell the tale of a group of friends facing mid-life crises who are remaking their favorite movie from their youth. They head to the rainforest, only to find themselves in a fight for their lives against natural disasters, giant snakes and violent criminals.
The original Anaconda film was directed by Luis Llosa, and starred Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, Eric Stoltz, Jonathan Hyde, and Owen Wilson. The plot centers on a film crew for National Geographic, who are kidnapped by a hunter, who is going after the world’s biggest and strongest green anaconda, which is discovered in the remote jungle. The film was released on April 11, 1997, and earned $136.8 million at the box office against a budget of $45 million.
