Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk to Reimagine ‘Idle Hands’

by Rob Caprilozzi

Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk are set to write a reimagining of Idle Hands for Sony Pictures that Jason Reitman will produce, according to a report on Deadline.

Idle Hands will see the duo reunite with Reitman, who worked with Wolfhard and Bryk on two “Ghostbusters” films and “Saturday Night” for Sony Pictures.

“Finn and Billy crushed their directorial debut and have a completely original take on ‘Idle Hands’ that captures a disaffected generation,” Reitman says. “We are excited to support them as they bring their unique take to the screen and summon the demons.”

Directed by Rodman Flender, Idle Hands was released on April 30, 1999, and starred Devon Sawa, Seth Green, Elden Henson, Jessica Alba, and Vivica A. Fox. The film would bomb at the box office earning only $4.2 million against a budget of $25 million.
