Make that turn onto Fear Street.

A trilogy of films based on R.L. Stine’s popular Fear Street YA novels aired on Netflix back in 2021, and late last year, a fourth film was confirmed. Now, Stine himself has revealed more information about the next feature.

Check out the social media post from the bestselling author on this page that announces that the fourth film will draw from 1992’s Fear Street: The Prom Queen. At this early stage, there’s no news yet about a release window on Netflix.

Breaking the news, Stine tweeted, “I can finally announce that a new Fear Street movie is about to go into production for Netflix. It’s based on my book, Fear Street: The Prom Queen.” The new film reportedly will be a standalone feature that probably won’t spotlight characters from the previous trilogy.

This novel finds five Prom Queen candidates at Shadyside High School caught up in a brutal murder–and then another and then another. Lizzie McVay soon realizes someone is killing the Prom Queen hopefuls–and that she may be next on the list.

The original Netflix Fear Street trilogy–directed by Leigh Janiak–contains separate–but connected–stories that follow teenagers who try to break a long-standing curse on their town. Each film is set  during a different year–1994, 1978 and 1666.
