‘Exquisite Corpses’ and ‘Room Service’ Head Toward the Big Screen

by Rob Caprilozzi

Lyrical Media and James Tynion IV’s Tiny Onion are joining forces to develop two horror films based on Tynion’s work: an adaptation of his new bestselling comic series Exquisite Corpses, and a reimagining of his short film and one-shot comic Room Service, according to a report on Deadline.

Debuting on May 14, 2025, Exquisite Corpses follows the wealthiest families in America as they gather to play a game every five years on Halloween. Twelve of the deadliest people in the world are dropped into a small town with just one goal: last killer standing wins. For the citizens of Oak Valley, Maine—this year’s unlucky arena—the goal is much simpler. They must survive the night.

Room Service centers on a down-on-his-luck protagonist whose family is on the brink of collapse; with help from a mysterious Caretaker, he may have found a way out—but at a potentially devastating cost.

“When I first started Tiny Onion, the most important thing to me was finding likeminded partners to build incredible worlds with,” said Tynion. “Lyrical has been there every step of the way, and I could not be more thrilled to embark on the next leg of our journey together. These projects were built with love and care with my incredible co-creators, and I’m thrilled to bring that same creative energy to the big screen.”
