Why did our world go quiet?
A Quiet Place: Day One–the prequel to the popular horror film franchise–now has a summer release date, as well as a revealing trailer that takes fans back to where it all began. Check out the video on this page.
The film–directed by Michael Sarnoski (Pig) from a screenplay he wrote with Jeff Nichols (and based on an original idea by John Krasinski)–hits the big screen June 28, according to a report on Entertainment Weekly.
In the new prequel feature, a young woman named Sam (Lupita Nyong’o) is on a day trip into New York City “when monsters arrive. As things go to hell, she meets a man named Eric (Joseph Quinn) and, with some reluctance, they agree to survive the city together.”
The cast is rounded out by Djimon Hounsou, reprising his role as “The Man on the Island” in A Quiet Place Part II, and Alex Wolff (Hereditary).
The original 2018 A Quiet Place–directed by Krasinski from a screenplay he wrote with Bryan Woods and Scott Beck–scored big with critics and horror fans, earning more than $340 million globally on a $20-million budget.
