“Raindrops are falling on my head.”
Gamers finally got what they wanted yesterday as Death Stranding 2: On the Beach was released to the public for the PlayStation 5. To celebrate, Kojima Productions released a final trailer, which can be seen below, featuring the main character, Sam Porter Bridges, in the game played by Norman Reedus.
The official description of the game reads “Embark on an inspiring mission of human connection beyond the UCA. Sam—with companions by his side—sets out on a new journey to save humanity from extinction. Join them as they traverse a world beset by otherworldly enemies, obstacles and a haunting question: should we have connected? Step by step, legendary game creator Hideo Kojima changes the world once again.”
The first game in the series, Death Stranding, was released for PlayStation 4 on November 8, 2019. Since then, fans have been clamoring for a follow-up and Norman Reedus brought them joy in May of 2022 when he confirmed a sequel was in development. Since that time, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach received a nomination for Most Wanted Game at the 2023 Golden Joystick Awards and was also nominated for Most Anticipated Game at the 2024 Game Awards.
