Talk about a team-up made in horror heaven!

Deadline is reporting that Joe Dante and Roger Corman are teaming up to reboot Corman’s 1960 horror comedy Little Shop of Horrors.

Little Shop of Halloween Horrors is said to be a reimagining intended to jumpstart a new franchise.  The picture is based on a script by Chales S. Haas (Gremlins 2: The New Batch) and will be directed by Dante (The Howling, Gremlins) with Brad Kevoy and and Corman co-producing.

Released on September 14, 1960, Little Shop of Horrors was directed by Roger Corman and starred Jonathan Haze, Jackie Joseph, Mel Welles, Dick Miller, Myrtle Vail, Wally Campo and Jack Nicholson. The film follows a clumsy young man who nurtures a plant and discovers that it’s carnivorous, forcing him to kill to feed.

Interest in the film was rekindled when a stage musical adaptation called Little Shop of Horrors was produced in 1982.
