CHUCKY Slash & Dash Interview with Amar Gavhane

by Rob Caprilozzi

Slimstown Studios recently announced its upcoming game Chucky Slash & Dash an ‘endless runner’ currently in development for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices.  It is the result of an agreement with Universal Partnerships & Licensing to develop and publish the first officially licensed smartphone and tablet game based on the Chucky movie franchise.

We caught up with Director of Marketing & PR at Slimstown Studios, Amar Gavhane to find out more about the upcoming game.

Horror News Network: Can you tell us a bit about the storyline?

Amar Gavhane: Being a runner, Chucky: Slash & Dash has a pretty straightforward story. Chucky’s stuck in a never-ending nightmare in which he’s running through the Good Guys Doll factory forever. Of course, he gets to slaughter a lot of enemies along the way, so maybe it’s more of a nice dream for him rather than a nightmare!

Horror News Network: Can you talk a bit about the weapons Chucky will be able to use in this game?

Amar Gavhane: Sure! Chucky starts out with his go-to kitchen knife, and as the player earns XP by killing enemies and picks up batteries during runs, he can buy new weapons. They’re pretty much the kind of sharp-edged weapons Chucky would love, things like a meat cleaver, a hatchet, a screwdriver, and more pointy things.

Horror News Network: What can we expect in terms of blood and humor?

Amar Gavhane: Copious amounts of the former, with a dash of humor. Chucky can kill enemies in a few different ways, some of which are just as funny as they are gory, and along the way he’ll throw out some quips from the movies.

Horror News Network: Besides Chucky, will we see any other characters from the Child’s Play/Chucky series in this game?

Amar Gavhane: I think everyone would like to see Tiffany in the game, right? We’d love for her to be in the game, but right now I can’t confirm if she is or not.

Horror News Network: When is the expected release date for the game?

Amar Gavhane: We’re pretty darn close to being done, so we aim to be out, naturally, by Halloween.

Horror News Network: When can we expect the first gameplay video?

Amar Gavhane: Probably just before the game goes live.

Horror News Network: Where can our readers find out more about this game?

Amar Gavhane: We have a few places! They can join our facebook page at facebook.com/ChuckySlashAndDash, follow us on Twitter @ChuckySlashDash, or go to our website at Slimstown.com.

Horror News Network: Thanks for your time Amar! Best of luck with the game.
