Bill Skarsgard (Hemlock Grove) has been cast in the new adaptation of Stephen King’s It as the clown villain, Pennywise. Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray Taylor will also star. Andy Muschietti is directing the film, which will be comprised of two films. Producers include Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg and Barbara Muschietti.
The story centers around a group of teens who call themselves the Losers Club, who fight and defeat the evil creature called It. Years later they must come together again to fight It, however they have no memory of the first battle. The first film will tell the story of their lives as kids, while the second will focus on the adults.
Pennywise the name of the clown form often taken by the evil entity. Skarsgard, who also appeared in Divergent, is brother of Alexander Skarsgard, and son of Stellan Skarsgard (Avengers: Age of Ultron).
