A brand-new Castlevania game is finally going to see the light of day.
Earlier today at Sony’s State of Play showcase, a new Castlevania game was announced to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the franchise. Titled Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is a 2D exploration action title in development between Konami, Evil Empire, and Motion Twin.
A trailer accompanied the announcement. The preview, which can be seen below, showcases the game’s unique art style, a unique colorful approach that stays true to the classic gothic look of the hit franchise.
According to the official PlayStation Blog, the synopsis of the game is as follows: “The game is set in 1499 Paris, a city attacked by monstrous creatures suddenly emerge from the shadows. Armed with the legendary holy whip, the Vampire Killer, Trevor Belmont’s successor ventures into the burning streets and the looming castle to hunt down the beasts.“
