Anthony DiLeo Jr, an actor who frequently appeared in many of George Romero’s films has passed away Friday night due to complications from COVID.
Lori Cardille, who worked with DiLeo on Day of the Dead, took to her Facebook page to post the following message: “It is with great sadness that I let you all know that my dear friend and colleague Anthony DiLeo passed away last night from Covid. Tim was filled with love for nature, his beloved animals, family and friends and fans. He made me laugh every day while making Day of the Dead. Tim was an accomplished pianist with a beautiful voice. I will miss you Tim. My heart is broken. I love you friend.”
He appeared in many films associated with George Romero including Day of the Dead (where he played the role of Pvt. Miguel Salazar), Knightriders (where he played the role of Corncook), Monkey Shines (DiLeo played Vandal), Two Evil Eyes (DiLeo played the Taxi Driver), and the Night of the Living Dead remake from 1990, which was directed by Tom Savini (in which DiLeo played the role of Knife Zombie).
